Nico Poalillo is a director born in San Diego and creatively raised in Detroit. The eldest son of Colombian and Italian immigrants, he grew up inside a city in the middle of a cultural renaissance and developed a deep fascination with automotive culture, heavy metal, and the particular tension between grit and beauty that defines both. His work is visceral and restrained at the same time. Rooted in a love for impactful advertising and shaped by a personal experience with cancer that changed how he thinks about what a frame is for, Nico directs with urgency and intention. He finds the edge and holds it there long enough to mean something.
